Juventus are watching the Marseille full-back
Juventus are weighing up a move for Emerson Palmieri. According to Foot Mercato, the Turin hierarchy reopened the file on Tuesday, just hours before the window shuts. The Marseille left-back is under contract until 2027.
That fresh interest has been triggered by an exit. Juan Cabal has reached an agreement with Atalanta. His transfer leaves a gap on the left side of Juventus’ defence. The Old Lady now have to plug it before the deadline.
Juventus’ first choice is still Nicolas Tagliafico. The Argentine at Lyon remains the stated priority. But Atletico Madrid have moved ahead in that race. If the Spanish club gets it done, Turin will have to look elsewhere. That is when Emerson Palmieri climbs back up the list.

A profile built for Serie A
Emerson Palmieri knows Italian football inside out. Born in Santos and capped by Italy, he learned his trade in Serie A with AS Roma. He then moved to Chelsea, then Lyon, before signing for Marseille.
A switch to Turin would take him back to Italy, several years after leaving the capital. His top-level experience fits Juventus’ immediate needs, and they don’t have the luxury of taking a punt now.
But this is still just a report, not a done deal. Foot Mercato are presenting it as a fallback option, not an agreement. Nothing is settled yet, and the move only comes alive if Tagliafico heads to Madrid.
A one-way transfer window for Marseille
Marseille head into the final day without a single signing. The club have spent the summer trimming the squad. The board has pushed out plenty of exits to ease a wage bill that had grown too heavy.
Grégory Lorenzi and Stéphane Richard are running this new structure. Bruno Genesio is in the dugout. The trio have opted for financial caution instead of flashy business, even if it means going through the whole window without reinforcements.
Losing Emerson Palmieri would only make things tougher. Marseille would be down an experienced defender and still short on cover. The club have plenty riding on the final hours of the market.
