Enzo Fernandez asked to leave months ago. On the last day of the window, he finally got the answer he wanted.
Manchester City and Chelsea struck an agreement on Tuesday, with the fee reported at around 140 million euros before bonuses by Gianluca Di Marzio and L’Equipe. Medical and paperwork remain. Nothing else does.

Three and a half years at Stamford Bridge
He landed in west London in the winter of 2023 for 121 million euros, a British record at the time.
What followed was not a flop by any reading of the numbers: 170 appearances, 31 goals, 30 assists. A starter, week in week out. His deal ran to June 2032, which explains why Chelsea sat at the table for as long as they did before naming a price they could live with.

City are about to break €500m
The Manchester spending had already passed 311 million euros before this. Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, Allan from Palmeiras, Jeremy Monga from Leicester, Geronimo Rulli from Marseille.
Now add Iliman Ndiaye, expected from Everton at 75 million, and Fernandez at 140. The half-billion mark falls before the window shuts.
