Premier League: Chelsea line up Mudryk loan exit before deadline

Seventy million euros, and barely a trace

Mykhaylo Mudryk is on his way out of Chelsea. Fabrizio Romano reported Monday that the Ukraine winger is expected to leave before the window shuts, most likely on loan, though nothing has been signed and the shape of the deal is still moving.

Leeds United have been pushing for days. They are not alone in the race either, and other clubs could still make a late move before Tuesday night. One condition matters to the player above the rest: he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Three and a half years that never took off

He landed at Stamford Bridge in January 2023, snatched from under Arsenal’s nose in the closing hours of the winter window. Shakhtar Donetsk banked close to 70 million euros with add-ons.

Then came the managers, one after another, and Mudryk kept sliding down the pecking order. The minutes never came close to matching the fee.

The club around him has moved on. Chelsea are the heaviest spenders in England this summer at roughly 476 million dollars, headlined by Morgan Rogers, who arrived from Aston Villa for a British record 117 million pounds. Xabi Alonso has started the season with a clean sweep of wins, the latest a 4-3 thriller against Brighton on Saturday.

The clear-out is far from finished

Mudryk is not the only name on the list. Tosin Adarabioyo is being lined up for an exit, with Tottenham already in talks and Real Betis watching.

Chelsea are also tracking Manu Kone as a possible replacement should Enzo Fernandez join Manchester City. The squad remains bloated. The wage bill still needs cutting. And there are barely 24 hours left to do it, with the English window closing Tuesday at 11pm.
