Davitashvili looks set to stay put
The transfer window shuts at 8pm on Tuesday. At Saint-Etienne, two deals are still on the table. The first looks settled.
Zuriko Davitashvili is not expected to go anywhere. The Georgian attacking midfielder has had interest this summer, including from Olympiakos, who have now signed elsewhere. According to Foot Mercato, the former Bordeaux player is now set to carry on in green.
Only a huge last-gasp bid could still change the picture. That feels highly unlikely with just hours left before the deadline. Davitashvili has already made his mark early in the season and remains focused on his aims with the club.

Stassin, the opposite story
The Lucas Stassin situation is far less clear. The 21-year-old Belgian striker is barely getting a look in. Two substitute appearances, no goals.
The issue is not the team output. Saint-Etienne’s attack is flying, with 10 goals in three league games. The problem is the pecking order. The former Anderlecht player does not appear to be high on his head coach’s list of priorities.
Again according to Foot Mercato, several clubs are keeping tabs on the situation, ready to pounce on a late opportunity. Kilmer Sports, the club’s owners, have not received any firm offers so far. But there have been concrete signs of interest. A move before Tuesday night is therefore still possible.
An early-season run that changes the picture
The mood is working in the Greens’ favour. The start to the campaign has been sharp and calm has settled around the club. Under those circumstances, it is hard to let a key man go for a cut-price deal 48 hours from the deadline.
Saint-Etienne have still been busy in recent days, reaching an agreement with Cadiz for Aymen Moueffek and opening talks with Liverpool over N’Guessan. The club are willing to sell, but only to the right suitor. Stassin, for now, is still waiting to find out which way this one goes.
