Seven months in Rome, and that was that
Robinio Vaz is on the move again. The striker is set to join Hull City on loan with an option to buy, first reported by Fabrizio Romano and later confirmed by Foot Mercato.
He took his time over it. Vaz sat on the offer for several days while clubs elsewhere in Europe and in Ligue 1 tried to nip in ahead of the Tigers. England won out.
Hull had made him their number one target in the closing stretch of the window. The newly promoted side pushed, and pushed, and got him.

Roma spent 25 million and are getting almost nothing back
That price tag is going to sting in the Italian capital. Roma paid north of 25 million euros last winter to take him off Olympique de Marseille’s hands. Twelve months on, he is walking out on a loan.
These stories tend to run the same way. The adaptation takes longer than anyone planned, the competition ahead of him does not thin out, and a coaching staff decides a season of real minutes elsewhere beats another year of warming a bench.
Gian Piero Gasperini is still leaning on his board for two more signings. The Roma attack is being rebuilt around other names, and Vaz was not one of them.
The Tigers are not behaving like a promoted club
Hull City already added Mohamed-Ali Cho this summer, and they beat Manchester United 2-0 on their way to a start nobody predicted. Survival does not appear to be the ceiling here.
They have been in contact with a string of French players in recent weeks too. The strategy barely needs spelling out: find young attackers who have slipped down the pecking order at bigger clubs, then hand them the minutes they came looking for.
Vaz is now heading into his third league in two years. That option to buy only turns into something real if he starts week after week.
