Three goals at the Joseph Mariën Stadium
Union Saint-Gilloise beat Anderlecht 3-0 on Sunday night in the fourth round of the Jupiler Pro League. Besfort Zeneli opened the scoring in the 38th minute after a pass from Guilherme Smith. Mateo Biondic doubled the lead just before the break in the 45th, set up by Zeneli.
Raul Florucz wrapped it up in the 81st minute, finishing from a Rob Schoofs assist. The forward now has two goals this season.
Lawrence Visser was in charge of this Brussels derby. The result extends a pattern Anderlecht know all too well: across the last 24 meetings between the two clubs, Union have won 18.

Anderlecht had the ball and not much else
Vitor Bruno went with a 4-4-2, putting Danylo Sikan and Mihajlo Cvetkovic up front. The pair managed six shots between them. None were on target.
Anderlecht did have 54% of the ball. Leo Petrot completed 45 of his 48 passes. But the Brussels side created only one big chance, compared with two for their opponents. Ali Maamar lost possession four times and won just five of his 18 duels.
David Hubert set his side up in a 3-4-3. His team never cracked. Kevin Mac Allister made five interceptions, Ondrej Kricfaluši four. Kamiel Van de Perre won 13 of his 18 duels.
Union move up, Anderlecht slip back
Massire Sylla was the driving force in Union’s midfield. He won nine of 12 duels, took four of five aerial battles and completed 49 of 55 passes. Exactly the all-round presence Hubert needed to keep the middle of the pitch under control.
In the table, Union Saint-Gilloise climb to seven points and sit sixth. Anderlecht stay on three points, down in 11th after four matches. The Mauves can afford very few more mistakes if they want to keep touch with the top end of the table.
Guilherme Smith also deserves a mention. Four successful dribbles, one big chance created, one assist. He is hitting his stride at just the right time.
