Two matches, two goals
Davide Frattesi did the job. Again.
In the 25th minute at the Olimpico, set up by Nuno Tavares, the Italian midfielder put Lazio in front. The score never changed after that. Two goals in two matches for him, and he sits second in the league scoring chart after matchday two.
Loaned from Inter this summer, he is starting life in Rome the way every player dreams of starting it. Gennaro Gattuso had him in his 4-3-3, alongside Nicolò Rovella and Kenneth Taylor. The move held up for 90 minutes.

Genoa had the ball, not the goals
Daniele De Rossi was out of luck. Or maybe just short of forwards.
His Genoa side had 54% of the ball. They even created two big chances, compared with Lazio’s three. Morten Frendrup won five tackles in midfield, and Leo Østigård touched the ball 107 times. Plenty of effort there.
But Lorenzo Colombo lost all seven of his duels. Seven out of seven. Milutin Osmajić, after coming off the bench, won his four battles without finding the target either. Genoa played. Genoa didn’t score. That’s the story of their start to the season.
Rovella was flawless, Nuno Tavares stood out
The best rating of the night did not go to the scorer. Nuno Tavares picked up a 7.7, ahead of Frattesi on 7.0. The Portuguese full-back supplied the assist and sprayed 20 balls into the final third.
Another number jumps off the page: Nicolò Rovella completed all 36 of his passes. No waste, no fuss. You see that sort of stat maybe once a season.
Lazio end the night on six points and in fourth place. Genoa stay on zero, down in 16th, still without a point since the league got under way. Ermanno Feliciani was the referee, though he had very little to do.
De Rossi needs a striker. Fast.
