Contact made with Wolverhampton
Zero league minutes since the season restarted. That number is doing most of the work here.
NEOM are still shopping, and according to Foot Mercato the Saudi club have made contact with Wolverhampton about Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. Nothing formal has been tabled in public yet.
The 28-year-old Haiti international is tied to the Wolves until 2028. His situation on the pitch points firmly towards the exit. A Premier League salary at a Championship club, paid to a player who is not playing, rarely survives the last week of a window.
Try it for $0.99.
Galtier is not finished
NEOM opened their 2026-2027 campaign with two wins before slipping up in the third round. Christophe Galtier wants more bodies. Foot Mercato reported a day earlier on a possible move for Georginio Wijnaldum, which tells you the profile: European mileage, available immediately, no bedding-in period.
Bellegarde fits. A former Lens and Strasbourg midfielder, where he became one of the more dynamic runners in Ligue 1, he crossed to England in 2023. He can play centrally or drift right, and that flexibility is still worth something.
A deal to watch until Tuesday
The Saudi window and the European one do not close on the same day, which hands Saudi Pro League clubs a little extra room to manoeuvre. The real question sits at Molineux. Do Wolves let go of a player with two years left, or hold out for a fee that, at 28 and with no game time, nobody is going to pay?
Bellegarde has several caps for Haiti, who are at the World Cup this summer. Finding rhythm fast would help that cause. For now this is contact, and nothing more.
