Three charges filed
Raheem Sterling is set to face a British court. According to The Telegraph, the former England international, 31, has been charged with dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for unlawful inhalation and failing to provide a sample after his arrest.
The incident dates back to 28 May. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police say Sterling was driving a Lamborghini when he was involved in a collision on the M3 near the Minley junction. No other vehicle was involved and no injuries were reported.

Court date set for 15 September
Bailed, the former Manchester City and Chelsea player is due in court on 15 September. No conviction has been entered at this stage and he remains innocent until proven otherwise.
Under British law, dangerous driving can carry a sentence of up to two years in prison in a case like this. The court will also rule on the other two charges against him.
Without a club since leaving Feyenoord
The timing could hardly be worse. Sterling has been without a club since his spell at Feyenoord ended last season. At 31, he is still looking for his next move.
The contrast with his peak years is stark. The forward has 82 England caps. He did his best work at Manchester City, where he won four Premier League titles before moving to Chelsea in 2022. His time at Stamford Bridge never reached those heights, and what followed only dragged him further off course.
15 September will loom large over what happens next. Any club thinking about taking him on will likely wait to see how the case plays out.
