Deal expected later today
Adama Traore is close to joining Deportivo La Coruna. Marca says the Galician club is hoping to wrap up the move on Wednesday, which would bring the Spanish winger back to La Liga after several seasons in England.
The 30-year-old has been a free agent since leaving West Ham. No transfer fee is required, so the only real sticking point has been his wage demands, until Deportivo put together a financial package that got them nearer to his terms.

A promoted side going big in the market
Back in La Liga this summer, Deportivo have not settled for minor tweaks. Leo Roman, Angelino and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have already signed. Traore would be the fourth headline arrival in an ambitious rebuild for a club back in the top flight.
The move would carry a bit of extra bite. Traore and Aubameyang played together at Barcelona in 2022. Four years on, the two former Barca men could be reunited in Galicia, in a very different sporting setting.
Work still needs doing, though. Antonio Hidalgo’s staff have made the centre of defence their main priority and are still chasing an experienced defensive midfielder before the window shuts.
A familiar face in La Liga
After a spell at Barcelona and then a move to England, where he has worn the shirts of Fulham and West Ham, Traore has never really dropped off the Spanish radar. He is easy to spot. Raw pace, power dribbling, and rare physical strength for a winger.
Deportivo had made the signing of a right winger one of their stated priorities. On that front, the fit is obvious. The bigger question is the one that has followed Traore through his career: end product, especially in the final third, where raw talent alone does not always cut it.
