A season-long loan
Bournemouth have confirmed the arrival of Michele Di Gregorio on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Italian keeper leaves Juventus on a season-long loan and will get his first taste of the Premier League.
The English club followed up with a statement. “AFC Bournemouth are delighted to announce the signing of Michele Di Gregorio, who joins on loan for the season from Juventus. The 29-year-old goalkeeper arrives at the Cherries after establishing himself as one of Serie A’s most highly regarded keepers, bringing major experience at the top level of Italian and European football to the south coast.”

A reputation built at Monza
Di Gregorio came through at Inter Milan but never quite broke through there. He made his name at Monza. He played a key role in the club’s first promotion to Serie A, then racked up full seasons and grew into one of the league’s standout players in his position.
That form earned him a move to Juventus. Things have been more mixed since, with a starting spot in Turin never fully secured, and a loan was always the likeliest way out of that stalemate for a keeper who wants to play every week.
Marseille had already sniffed around
His name was linked with Marseille earlier this summer. The French club sounded him out, then moved on. So the south coast of England gets him instead, and Bournemouth get a keeper with well over a hundred Serie A appearances behind him at a point in the season when most clubs have already settled on their number one.
