Bantamweight main event in Shanghai
The UFC lands in Shanghai on Saturday with Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong closing the show at 135 pounds. The Russian and the Chinese contender headline at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, an indoor arena holding 18,000.
The date marks the promotion’s second straight year in the city and its third visit overall. The booking follows familiar logic. Song brings the home crowd. Nurmagomedov brings a reputation built near the top of the bantamweight division.

A card built around the region
The rest of the main card leans on fighters from Asia and the ANZAC region. Yan Xiaonan meets Denise Gomes. Aoriqileng faces Kai Asakura. Alex Perez draws Sumudaerji, Liu Ce takes on Levi Rodrigues Jr., and Bilal Hasan opens the broadcast against Nilson Rojas.
The preliminary card digs into the same pool. Rei Tsuruya faces Kevin Borjas, Jack Jenkins meets Sean Woodson, and Xiong Jingnan returns against Julia Polastri. Namsrai Batbayar, Xiao Long, Rio Lawrence and Ding Meng fill the early slots.
A heavier calendar
Shanghai is one of 44 UFC events scheduled across four continents in 2026, a volume the promotion locked in after signing a seven-year agreement with Paramount+. China now sits as a fixed point on that map rather than an occasional stop.
