LFP wants to bring its tender forward
The LFP is already planning ahead. According to L’Equipe, the body is considering launching its next tender as early as October.
The rights in question cover the 2029-2030 to 2033-2034 seasons. Ligue 1+ is still showing the entire championship this season, but the league wants to get in early rather than wait for its own setup to run out.
The reason is money. The income generated by the platform is still well below the ambitions set when it launched. Two gaps are hitting club finances hard: the 78.5 million euros a year that beIN Sports paid for the Saturday afternoon marquee match has gone, and DAZN walked away from the deal early in exchange for an 85 million payout.

Bramly has met Maxime Saada
Olivier Bramly is not hanging about. Since taking charge at LFP Media, he has been sounding out the market before putting anything on paper. The aim is simple: work out how much real appetite there is among broadcasters and avoid another failed process.
Apple, Netflix, Amazon and Paramount have all been approached. One name, though, is drawing the most attention. Bramly has met Maxime Saada, the head of Canal+ Group. The league’s former long-time broadcaster, which has been at odds with the governing body for several years, is suddenly back in the picture.
The talks are not entirely new. Vincent Labrune and Maxime Saada had already resumed contact a few months earlier.
A single package to tempt the big players
A change in the rules could open everything up. Ligue 1 rights can now be sold as one single package, something that was not possible before.
The pitch is aimed squarely at the streaming giants. In 2023, Apple had shown interest in French football before pulling back, partly because it feared the rights would be split across several broadcasters. This time, the LFP hopes to offer one complete, exclusive product, making it easier to understand and harder to ignore. The move from league control to a club company should also alter the selling structure.
Nothing is signed yet. The report remains speculative and none of the parties involved has said a word.
