A weekend arrest, a Monday plea
Jed York spent part of Sunday in custody in East Palestine, Ohio. By Monday morning the San Francisco 49ers owner had pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts and paid a fine.
York, 46, was arrested on Sunday on counts of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, WKBN reported. Court records obtained by USA Today and WKBN show he was sentenced to one day in the Columbiana County Jail on each count, the terms to run concurrently with credit for time already served, plus a fine of $1,150.
TMZ and the New York Post reported that prosecutors reduced an original charge of engaging in prostitution to the misdemeanor disorderly conduct count. Several outlets carried the story through Monday morning.

Who York is
York has run the 49ers since December 2008, when he took over as chief executive. He became the club’s principal owner in 2024. He is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and East Palestine sits in the same corner of the state, about half an hour down the road.
That makes this a local story as much as a league one. Columbiana County handled it on a routine misdemeanor docket, and the sentence reflects that: a day on each count, served concurrently, credited to time already spent in custody.
What happens next
The county case is closed. The NFL applies its personal conduct policy to owners and executives, not only to players, and the league has disciplined team owners before. Neither the 49ers nor the league had commented publicly when the reports emerged.
