Eighteen threes, and a franchise record with them
Indiana made 18 three-pointers in Chicago on Sunday night. No Fever team had ever made that many in a game. Caitlin Clark took eight of them herself, a career high, on the way to 37 points and 10 assists in a 113-90 win over the Sky.
Kelsey Mitchell added 30. Two Indiana players clearing 30 in the same game says plenty about how the night went once the Fever found their range from distance.
Lexie Hull scored 14 and Makayla Timpson finished with 12. Indiana did all of this without Aliyah Boston, who sat out with a right leg injury after posting 22 points and six assists in Saturday’s 109-102 defeat at New York.

The third quarter settled it
Chicago hung around into the second half before a 13-2 Fever run pushed the margin to 71-60. Clark opened the stretch with a three. Mitchell then scored eight straight points. Clark closed the run with a jumper and 4:31 on the clock.
Hull’s reverse layup made it 97-82 with 4:37 left, and by then the Sky were playing out a season rather than fighting for one. Indiana had lost its previous two games and was playing for the third time in four nights. The Fever still finished the road trip 3-2.
Chicago’s season ends here
Natasha Cloud scored 16 with seven assists and Azura Stevens had 14 points and eight rebounds. The Sky had won three in a row before Sunday. They are now out of the playoff race, eliminated by the combination of this result and Washington’s win on the same night.
The game carried a subplot too. It was the first meeting between the teams since DiJonai Carrington’s hard foul brought Sophie Cunningham down in the opening quarter on August 8, a game Indiana won 90-86. Cunningham played more than 11 minutes and scored three. Carrington had seven points in 18 minutes.
Indiana hosts Connecticut on Friday night. Chicago travels to Connecticut on Tuesday.
