Forty-five minutes without conceding
Seattle led 16-3 after one quarter. Seattle lost 19-16.
Everything between those two facts belonged to Tennessee. The Titans blanked the Seahawks for the final 45 minutes overnight Sunday into Monday in Nashville, clawed level, then went in front in the teams’ second preseason game.
D’Ernest Johnson punched in the go-ahead score from 2 yards with 5:45 on the clock. The running back, in New England last season, accounted for Tennessee’s only touchdown of the night. Joey Slye handled the rest, four for four on field goals with a 55-yarder among them.
Tennessee sits at 2-0 in preseason, Seattle at 0-2. The records count for nothing. What they hint at, ten days from final cuts, counts for plenty.

Cam Ward is fine. Seattle’s second unit is not.
Ward started and looked settled: 8 of 12 for 69 yards over three series, the best passing line on either side. Tony Pollard carried twice for 12 yards, then reeled in a 33-yard catch that led all Titans receivers.
Seattle sat Sam Darnold and split the work between Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe. Lock was excellent, 12 of 14 for 103 yards, and steered three scoring drives in the opening quarter including a 36-yard touchdown to Elijah Arroyo, the night’s leading receiver at 50 yards. Rookie Jacardia Wright then ripped off a 69-yard run to make it 13-3, part of an 81-yard evening on eight carries.
Then Milroe took over. Six of 11, 52 yards, two picks, thrown to Anthony Hill Jr. and Derrick Canteen. The Canteen interception ended Seattle’s last realistic drive.

Mike Macdonald has a decision to make
Nobody is panicking about a defence that spent the night without its starters. The backup quarterback spot is the actual problem. Two interceptions in a single half is the kind of line that follows a player straight into cut week, and Seattle has to settle who backs up Darnold before the games start counting.
