Fifteen minutes of Seattle, then nothing
The Seahawks scored 16 points in the first quarter in Nashville on Sunday evening. They scored none in the 45 minutes that followed. Tennessee won 19-16.
Drew Lock ran the Seattle offense while Sam Darnold watched, and for one quarter he was close to flawless. Lock hit Elijah Arroyo for a 36-yard touchdown 3:48 into the game, then watched rookie running back Jacardia Wright break a 69-yard touchdown run with 5:43 left in the period for a 13-3 lead. Lock finished 12 of 14 for 103 yards. Arroyo’s 50 receiving yards led all players in the game.

Joey Slye kicked Tennessee back into it
Tennessee’s first 12 points came off a kicker’s foot. Joey Slye converted all four of his field goal attempts, the longest from 55 yards, and those kicks accounted for the entire Titans scoring output until the fourth quarter. D’Ernest Johnson, who spent last season with New England, punched in a two-yard run with 5:45 remaining for the only touchdown Tennessee needed and the team’s first lead of the night.
Cam Ward, in his second year as the starter, played three series and completed 8 of 12 passes for a team-high 69 yards. Tony Pollard carried twice for 12 yards but led the Titans with 33 receiving yards on a single catch.
Milroe’s second half cost Seattle
Jalen Milroe took over after halftime and went 6 of 11 for 52 yards with two interceptions. Anthony Hill Jr. took the first. Derrick Canteen took the second, which ended Seattle’s final possession of the game.
Tennessee is 2-0 this preseason, Seattle 0-2. Neither record follows them into September. The shape of the game might: 16 unanswered points from a team whose starting quarterback played three clean series, against a defense that had already surrendered a 69-yard run to a rookie.
