Four before the break
Vancouver put this out of reach inside 45 minutes. Emmanuel Sabbi opened in the 11th minute, collecting a Ryan Gauld corner at the top of the box and drilling a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner past a diving Jonathan Sirois. It was his third of the season.
Brian White doubled it in the 23rd, tapping in a cross from Edier Ocampo. He struck again in the 37th, hammering a left-footed rebound off another Gauld corner. That took the New Jersey native to 12 goals and stretched his lead at the top of the club’s scoring chart.
Ocampo finished the half himself. Six minutes into first-half stoppage time he rose to head an Andres Cubas cross up and over Sirois for 4-0. The Whitecaps had six shots on target by then and had barely let Dallas out of their own half.

Dallas found only the woodwork
FC Dallas created one moment worth the name. Logan Farrington rattled the left post in the 41st minute with the game already gone. Sirois finished with three saves, including a strong stop on Ocampo four minutes after the opener when White picked him out in the area.
Bruno Caicedo closed the scoring in the 68th minute, driving a right-footed finish home long after the visitors had stopped chasing. Yohei Takaoka made a single save and banked his eighth clean sheet of the campaign.
Top of the conference again
Vancouver move to 12-4-4 and 40 points, and they have now taken something from four consecutive matches. Houston lost to St. Louis City the same night, which pushed the Whitecaps two points clear at the summit of the Western Conference.
Dallas drop to 9-6-6 and 33 points, their three-match unbeaten run gone in a single half. The gap between the two sides on the table is seven points. The gap on the pitch at BC Place looked considerably wider than that.
