A badly timed absence
Crystal Palace are at Everton today in the Premier League. Ismaila Sarr is not expected to make the trip, according to Foot Mercato.
The 28-year-old Senegal forward is pressing behind the scenes for permission to leave. He wants to join Galatasaray. This absence comes right in the middle of a stand-off with the club hierarchy.
It naturally raises the question: is this a way of forcing the Eagles’ hand? Palace have not given any sporting or medical reason at this stage.

Galatasaray have already been turned away once
The Turkish club have already sent in an opening offer to Crystal Palace. It was rejected. The London side are in no mood to let one of their key attacking players go with just 10 days left in the transfer window.
Sarr, meanwhile, is still edging closer to a contract agreement with Galatasaray, again according to Foot Mercato. The player has made his preference for Turkey clear and is open to the move.
Galatasaray remain on the lookout. The Istanbul club could come back in if relations between player and employer continue to sour.
Palace left with a decision to make
Crystal Palace’s position is getting trickier. Keeping a player who no longer wants to stay risks a strained dressing room and a season that starts with one of the main men effectively stuck in limbo.
So this one moves to the pace of the remaining transfer days. Everton will face a weakened Palace today, and what happens next will depend heavily on the next Turkish bid.
