Kelsey Mitchell dropped 29 points on the Toronto Tempo and did not play the fourth quarter. Indiana still won 101-95. It was her 20th consecutive game with at least 20 points, matching the league record held by A’ja Wilson.
Mitchell came off after overheating, an issue rather than an injury, with the game controlled by then. Caitlin Clark added 24. Between them they now hold the record for the most 20-point games by a teammate duo in a single season.

Thirty-three in the first quarter
The Fever opened with 33 points in the first 10 minutes and never trailed. Aliyah Boston scored 16. Sophie Cunningham went three from three beyond the arc and finished with 13. Toronto stayed within reach for most of the night without ever getting the lead, and the six-point margin flatters a game Indiana ran from the opening minutes.
That is five straight wins for the Fever and 10 in their last 12. A month ago the conversation around this team was about whether they would hold a playoff place at all. It has moved on.
Toronto’s expansion year hardens
The Tempo have now lost 11 in a row. Expansion seasons rarely go smoothly, and Toronto’s first is following the pattern, though the arena has kept filling. Losing at home to a team playing this well was always the likeliest outcome on the schedule.
For Indiana the timing matters more than the opponent. Mitchell’s streak has run alongside the stretch that dragged the Fever back into the Eastern picture, and Clark has been scoring without carrying the whole offence. Wilson set her record last season for a Las Vegas team that won everything. Mitchell reaches the same number for a side still fighting for seeding.
Game 21 of the streak comes next. Nobody in the league has ever reached it.
