Eight minutes on the pitch, then down again
Jamal Musiala came on in the 61st minute at Heidenheim. By the 69th he was off, out of the game and walking to the dressing room with Bayern’s medical staff.
He went down on Tuesday night, and his team-mates were quick to form a ring around him and shield him from the cameras. Vincent Kompany sent Kiala on in his place. The 23-year-old got back to his feet under his own power.
Bayern led 4-2 at that point, having trailed 2-1 at the break.

The same thing happened against Leipzig
Three days earlier, in a 3-1 friendly win over RB Leipzig, Musiala went down in almost identical fashion. Again shortly after coming off the bench. Again in the second half.
Two incidents inside 72 hours, same player, same circumstances. Bayern have said nothing about the cause, and nothing about what tests come next.
Four days until the season starts
The Bundesliga is back at the weekend and Kompany still has questions to answer in attack. Musiala, who came through at Chelsea before making his name in Munich, is one of very few players in this squad capable of prising open a deep defence.
A club this size cannot leave the matter at a shrug and a vague line. Someone in Munich will have to explain what is going on.
