Five months, five matches, one move
Houston Dash sold midfielder Emina Ekic to Parma Calcio 1913 today. The clubs kept the fee to themselves. Ekic leaves Texas with five appearances to her name, having arrived from Lexington SC only in April.
The 27-year-old crosses to Italy with her reputation built elsewhere. Racing Louisville drafted her fifth overall in 2021 and handed her three seasons, 38 appearances, three goals and one assist. Houston never built on that.

Bosnia’s scorer heads to Italy
Ekic plays for Bosnia and Herzegovina and scored three times during the 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifying cycle earlier this year. Those goals count for more in Parma’s calculation than her NWSL minutes do.
Regular football is the point of the move. Bosnia’s qualifying campaign runs on, and a player who spent the summer watching from a bench in Houston needs a starting role to stay in her national coach’s plans.
What Houston get
The Dash clear a roster spot and recoup something on a player they used sparingly. An April signing turned into an August sale inside four months, which points at Houston’s midfield depth rather than at Ekic.
