A keeper with nothing to do
Jonathan Bond didn’t have to make a single save. Not one. The Los Angeles Galaxy spent 90 minutes in Houston without forcing a shot on target.
That is the English keeper’s fourth straight clean sheet. By far the easiest of the lot.
The Dynamo won 1-0 on Saturday night in front of a full house. That’s four straight wins. Seven games unbeaten. Houston climb to 35 points with an 11-6-2 record.
It wasn’t exactly a classic, though. Five shots for the home side, two on target. Nearly 58% possession, and not a lot to show for it.

Guilherme, again
In the 21st minute, Lawrence Ennali drew a foul in the box, with John Nelson the guilty man. Guilherme stepped up to take the penalty. That was enough.
It was the Brazilian’s 12th goal of the season. His fourth straight game with a goal. The league’s top three scorers are all on 13. He’s closing in.
And there was a twist. Ben Olsen wasn’t on the bench. He was suspended after picking up too many yellow cards. Assistant Juan Guerra took charge, and nothing changed.
The Galaxy sink further
At the other end, it was a flat-out struggle. Los Angeles have now gone six games without a win. They haven’t scored since the start of August, across two matches.
Carlos Garces made things worse. Sent on as a sub, he was shown a straight red in the 58th minute. He lasted less than 10 minutes on the pitch. The Galaxy finished with 10 men.
JT Marcinkowski made one save. Just one. That tells the story of a night when nobody really threatened.
The table makes grim reading for the California side: 22 points, a 5-8-7 record. When these teams met in Los Angeles on 23 May, they played out a 1-1 draw.
