Bennacer settles his business with Milan
It’s official. Ismael Bennacer is leaving AC Milan. The Algeria international has called time on more than five years in Lombardy.
The 28-year-old had already stopped looking like a true Rossonero. Loaned out for the last two seasons, he was heading towards a contract termination. The split is now complete.
Bennacer made it clear with a message to the fans. “Grazie di tutto,” he wrote on his social accounts.

Five years, one Scudetto and San Siro
Arriving in 2019, Bennacer leaves a mark on Milan. He lifted a Scudetto and an Italian Super Cup in that shirt. Two trophies that still carry weight on any CV.
In his message, the Algerian made a point of highlighting that league title. “Winning the Scudetto will always remain one of the best memories of my career,” he said. He also paid tribute to San Siro, his teammates and the various backroom staffs. “Playing in front of you was one of the greatest honours.”
This sounds like a proper farewell, not a casual wave goodbye. “Last year, I told you goodbye without imagining those words would become a farewell,” he added.
Off to Qatar
The next chapter will be written far from Europe. Bennacer is expected to land at Al-Gharafa in Qatar. A new start for a player who reached the top in Milan before his minutes began to dry up.
