Bombino grabs a consolation
Mikey Varas reshuffled at the break and goalkeeper CJ dos Santos kept the margin from widening, but San Diego rarely threatened at the other end. Luca Bombino forced in a scrappy goal in the 63rd minute after a run of ricochets, worth a consolation and little else. San Diego turn next to a border derby against Tijuana, who were beaten 2-0 at Austin on the same night.
