A quiet exit in Jacksonville

Trystan Colon is done. The Jacksonville Jaguars placed the veteran offensive lineman on the reserve/retired list on Tuesday, closing a six-season career at the age of 28.

The timing carries a twist. Colon signed a one-year deal with Jacksonville in early June, before minicamp, and walks away rather than fighting for a roster spot once training camp heats up.

Six seasons across the interior

Colon, once known as Colon-Castillo, played 63 games with 19 starts for the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions. He handled all three interior line positions and spent last season in Detroit, appearing in 12 games with four starts at center.

His workload had shrunk, 24 percent of the offensive snaps and 19 percent on special teams in 2025, the kind of role that often signals the end. He chose to make it official before the pads came on.
