Mike Yastrzemski homered and drove in two runs as the Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 4-2 on Sunday to sweep the four-game series. Matt Olson added a home run to back the win.

The result gave Atlanta its first four-game sweep since it took four at Washington in September 2025. The Braves controlled the slumping Nationals from the opener and never let go.

Washington’s freefall deepens

The Nationals dropped their fifth straight and absorbed their first four-game sweep of the season. They had never been swept in a four-game set in Atlanta before this weekend.

The trip turned costly on the mound too. Washington placed right-hander Reynaldo Lopez on the 15-day injured list with left knee inflammation, thinning a rotation already under strain.
