Preece stays put at RFK
Ryan Preece is not going anywhere. RFK Racing will keep the 35-year-old in the No. 60 Ford for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season, team co-owner Brad Keselowski confirmed over the weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The team quietly picked up its option on his multiyear deal months ago.
“We’re going to continue to keep him as a part of the family for a while,” Keselowski said. The words carry weight for a driver who has spent a career knocking on the door without quite breaking through.

A steady climb, still short of the breakthrough
Preece landed at RFK in 2025 after two seasons with Stewart-Haas Racing. He missed the playoffs by a whisker that year but posted his best Cup campaign yet, banking three top-five finishes and closing 18th in the standings. He sits 18th again this season, with four top-10s through 21 races.
The longer view frames the stakes. Across 243 Cup starts and nine seasons, Preece owns two poles and 33 top-10 finishes. What he does not own is a points-paying win at the sport’s highest level. The extension buys him more time to chase one.
Security in a shifting garage
Locking in a seat for 2027 matters in a silly season that rarely sits still. RFK, co-owned by Keselowski, has built continuity around its trio of cars, and keeping Preece signals faith in a driver whose results have trended upward rather than a rebuild.
