Marseille transfer update: OM move closer to signing promising Sacha Lung
Olympique de Marseille are continuing to shape next season’s squad and could soon add another young player with real upside. The club are working hard on the Sacha Lung file, with the 18-year-old centre-back coming through the ranks at Racing Club de Strasbourg.
After a number of key changes have already been made behind the scenes, including Grégory Lorenzi taking charge of the sporting side, Marseille’s hierarchy are chasing several options ahead of the next window. The aim is clear: build a competitive squad while bringing in more young players who can grow with the club.

A Strasbourg prospect on the radar
Regarded as one of the most promising defenders of his age group at the Alsace club, Sacha Lung has picked up valuable experience this season across several competitions. Between the reserve team, the U19s and the Coupe Gambardella, he has played 20 official matches and has regularly trained with the senior squad.
Despite Strasbourg wanting to keep him, the youngster has decided not to accept the contract offer put forward by his academy club. That has opened the door to a number of European suitors. [mathodds_app_cta]
OM in pole position
Marseille moved early on this one and now appear to have the edge. Talks between the various parties are said to have advanced sharply in recent days, even if no final agreement has yet been announced.
Clubs in Italy and Germany are also watching the defender closely. Even so, the chance to join OM seems to appeal most to the player, with the Marseille club currently his preferred destination.
If negotiations go through, OM would land a much sought-after young talent, which fits neatly with their recruitment plan of targeting high-upside prospects.
