Real Madrid : Camavinga holds firm, club names its price

Camavinga wants to stay at Real Madrid despite the noise and the pressure

The message is crystal clear. Eduardo Camavinga does not want to leave Real Madrid. According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel this week, the 23-year-old French midfielder is behind none of the speculation swirling around his future. His agents are not shopping him to any club, no talks have opened with a potential buyer, and the player himself has no desire to go. He wants to fight for his place at the Bernabeu, end of story.

The backdrop to all this is tough enough. Real Madrid’s Champions League exit to Bayern Munich left a mark, and Camavinga was among the players to take the heaviest criticism after the collapse. The pressure on him is real. On Instagram, he chose to speak up directly, owning his part in it and apologising to his team-mates and the Madrid supporters. A rare move, and one that says plenty about how much the club means to him. Alvaro Arbeloa has also backed him in public, pointing to the Frenchman’s athletic gifts and his constant work for the team.

Real Madrid ready to hear offers

Despite the player’s firm stance, Real Madrid are not necessarily planning to keep him at any cost. According to Marca, the club would be willing to seriously consider any offer above 50 million euros this summer. That’s a significant opening, and it sits awkwardly alongside Camavinga’s clear wish to carry on in Spain. Under contract until 2029 and valued at around 60 million euros by Transfermarkt, the midfielder is an attractive market option for clubs looking to strengthen the middle of the pitch.

And there is no shortage of interest. In the Premier League, Manchester United are keeping close tabs on him and see him as the ideal Casemiro replacement in midfield. Liverpool, rebuilding after Mohamed Salah’s departure, are also targeting him for extra drive and bite in the centre of the park. Chelsea are in the mix too and are watching the situation closely. Three English clubs chasing the same player is not exactly subtle.

PSG out of the race, for now

On the Paris Saint-Germain side, Fabrizio Romano was keen to firmly dismiss any active interest from the Paris hierarchy in Camavinga. The player’s name has been linked in France, but no concrete move has been made by the capital club. This is not a live issue for PSG, at least not for the time being.

If the summer passes without a big enough offer to make Real Madrid change course, Camavinga will still be at the Bernabeu when pre-season rolls around. That is the scenario he wants, and he’s determined to do everything he can to make it happen.
