The run keeps rolling for Arthur Rinderknech and Valentin Vacherot out in the California desert. They’ve booked their spot in the Indian Wells doubles final. Not bad for two cousins playing their first Masters 1000 together.
An impressive run from the off
All week Rinderknech and Vacherot have been putting in solid displays. Before the semis they’d already dumped out several high-profile pairs.
They dismantled Medvedev–Tien, Djokovic–Tsitsipas and Khachanov–Rublev — all in straight sets. A string of convincing wins that sent them into the semi full of confidence.
Waiting in their way: Yuki Bhambri and Andre Goransson — no pushovers.
A semi that went down to the wire
The match turned into a tight duel from the first point. In the opening set the cousins kept their heads, saving two break points at 5-5.
They seized the initiative straight after and took the first set 7-5.
The second set was just as tense. Despite a handful of missed break chances, Bhambri–Goransson forced a tie-break and pulled level by taking it 7-3.
Super tie-break settled it
It all came down to the match tie-break.
At crunch time the Franco-Monegasque duo stayed calm and set the tempo. Stronger on the big points, they closed it out 10-5 after 1h53 of play.

A priceless win that punches their ticket to their first Masters 1000 doubles final.
One last hurdle for the title
In the final Rinderknech and Vacherot will face another big test: either top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, or the pairing of Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard.
Whichever way it goes, it’s a huge ask. Still, after this run the cousins have shown they can mix it with the tour’s best pairs.
