NBA: Pistons in charge, Cunningham and Harris fold the Magic (106-92)

Detroit keeps calling the shots

They’re not just a pleasant surprise anymore.
They’re the standard now.

The Detroit Pistons, top of the NBA, steamrolled the Orlando Magic 106-92 in Florida to notch a sixth straight road win.

Record: 45-14.
21-7 on the road.
10 wins in their last 11 trips.

Detroit travels better than anyone.

Cade Cunningham sets the tone

Cade Cunningham did it again — 29 points, 11 assists.

He never forces it. He picks his spots, punishes late help, finds shooters on time.

In a game that stayed tight for long stretches, he was the team’s steadying hand.

Alongside him, Tobias Harris added 23 points, including the go-ahead three that put Detroit up midway through the third.

That shot flipped the game.

A fatal third quarter for Orlando

Orlando led 57-50 at halftime.
Detroit had missed their first 15 three-point attempts. Nothing was falling.

Then it flipped.

A brutal 11-0 run.
A Magic side that collapses in the third quarter — already been their Achilles’ heel after Friday’s game against Houston.

The Pistons locked up on defense while the Magic shot just 30.7% in the second half.

Duren muscles the paint

Jalen Duren chipped in 16 points and 10 boards.
He bullies the paint, grabs second chances and intimidates inside.

Detroit also wins by being tough.

Isaiah Stewart’s absence (last game of suspension) didn’t matter. The collective balance held up.

Banchero left too isolated

Paolo Banchero finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds, but his nine turnovers were costly.

Tristan da Silva (19 points) and Desmond Bane (17) tried to keep the fight alive, but Orlando lacks consistency.

They tend to crack mentally when the other team goes on a run.

Detroit plays like a real contender

What’s most striking about this 2026 Pistons squad?

They can win in a bunch of ways:

In the half-court
In transition
With defense
Or by surviving an awful shooting night in the first half

They don’t panic.
They kick it into gear when it matters.
Then they shut you down.

NBA leader.
Eight wins in their last nine.

Detroit aren’t outsiders anymore.
They’re playing like a team that expects to go deep in the spring.
