NHL: Panthers roar, Wild on fire, Oilers unleashed… the big night of February 26

Panthers maul the Maple Leafs

The Florida Panthers struck early. And they didn’t stop.
They crushed the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-1.
Brad Marchand notched a two-goal night, the second his 450th career goal. Sergei Bobrovsky slammed the door with 28 saves.

Florida were 2-0 before six minutes were up. Rodrigues added a short-handed goal after a William Nylander turnover. Toronto was smothered — just six shots in the first period.

John Tavares tried to spark a comeback and it changed nothing. The Panthers controlled the rest. Toronto got rolled.

Wild put the Avalanche on ice

The Minnesota Wild just keep rolling.
They beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 — sixth straight win.

Matt Boldy went off with two goals and two assists.
Joel Eriksson Ek scored twice on the power play.

And between the pipes, Filip Gustavsson turned aside 45 shots. Minnesota are 9-1-1 in their last 11.

The Avalanche still bite — Martin Necas scored both goals and Nathan MacKinnon had a hand in them. But the momentum is all Wild.

Hurricanes snap the Lightning’s run

Wild game in Raleigh.
Carolina raced to a 3-0 lead, watched Tampa Bay claw back to 4-4… then Sebastian Aho sliced through on the power play in the third.

They finished it 5-4.

Bruins stop the Blue Jackets’ streak

The Boston Bruins ended Columbus’ seven-game winning run.
They won 4-2.
Viktor Arvidsson scored twice. Jonas Korpisalo shone against his former team with 36 saves.

Penguins speed up, Devils sink deeper

The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the New Jersey Devils 4-1.
Evgeni Malkin handed out two assists.
New Jersey slipped to their fifth straight defeat.

Holloway drowns the Kraken

The St. Louis Blues dominated the Seattle Kraken 5-1.
Dylan Holloway returned and scored a hat-trick.
Perfect night for St. Louis.

Predators, Flyers, Flames… the rest of the results

• The Nashville Predators overturned the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2 thanks to Ryan O’Reilly.

• The Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime, Matvei Michkov with a two-goal night.

• The Calgary Flames topped the San Jose Sharks 4-1, Nazem Kadri bagging two goals.
