Kaprizov starts it on the power play
Minnesota put the game away with its stars. Kirill Kaprizov scored his league-leading 16th goal and set up three more in a 4-1 win over San Jose on Friday night in Saint Paul. He has 13 points, five goals and eight assists, across a seven-game point streak.
The Wild had a 1:32 five-on-three in the first period, and Kaprizov cashed in at 7:56 with a one-timer from the right circle through the five-hole, off a pass from Quinn Hughes. Jesper Wallstedt kept it 1-0 late in the period by stopping Will Smith on a two-on-one.

Celebrini ties it, Minnesota answers
Macklin Celebrini tied the game at 12:11 of the second, redirecting Dmitry Orlov’s pass over Wallstedt’s shoulder. Wallstedt had denied his one-timer from the same circle minutes earlier on a power play. Celebrini now has 16 points in seven career games against the Wild.
Maxim Shabanov restored the lead at 14:15, tipping a Kaprizov centring pass past Yaroslav Askarov on the power play. Hughes made it 3-1 at 6:54 of the third, taking a Kaprizov feed and skating across the zone to beat Askarov with a high wrist shot. Zach Bogosian sealed it at 13:58 with a slap shot after Joel Eriksson Ek’s rebound.
Streaks on both sides
Hughes finished with a goal and two assists and has now recorded a point in 16 of 18 games, including seven in a row. Wallstedt made 23 saves, and Minnesota improved to 5-0-1 at home, with three straight wins and six in its last seven. San Jose has lost four in a row and scored two goals or fewer in each of them. Askarov stopped 25 shots in defeat.
