Football on the pitch, illustrating Ibrahim Maza's PSG comments

Football: Maza admits PSG would be a dream move

A 20-year-old with big ambitions

Ibrahim Maza is not hiding it. The Algerian attacking midfielder, 20, plays for Bayer Leverkusen, and this week he told RTL and Sky Sport Deutschland that pulling on a Paris Saint-Germain shirt one day would be a huge dream.

“It’s a goal I’m working towards, like many other footballers,” he said, calling PSG one of the best clubs in the world. He put them in the same bracket as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal.

No talks planned in Paris

The comments will travel, but they do not mean a deal is close. According to RMC Sport, PSG have no intention of opening negotiations for Maza this winter. For now this is a player openly flagging his taste, not a club making a move.

That leaves Leverkusen in the comfortable position of holding a young creative player who is already being linked with bigger names. Maza’s open admiration for the Paris project will only add to the noise around him when the January window opens in two months.
