Chelsea have their new boss: Liam Rosenior replaces Enzo Maresca
Just a week after Enzo Maresca walked, Chelsea already have a replacement. This Tuesday morning in Strasbourg, Liam Rosenior confirmed at a press conference that he’s leaving Racing Club de Strasbourg to join the Blues. Chelsea’s own announcement is expected any minute now.
A huge leap for Rosenior
He took the Strasbourg job a year and a half ago, after two solid seasons at Hull City in the Championship. Now 41, Rosenior is stepping up to his first club of real European size. He’s walking into a Chelsea crying out for stability and results.
It’s been a fast rise. His work in Alsace was praised for tactical discipline and getting the best out of a young squad.

The move reopens the multi-club ownership debate
Leaving mid-season won’t go down quietly. Rosenior is heading to Chelsea — the flagship of BlueCo, which also owns RC Strasbourg. A straight swap between two clubs under the same ownership. Critics will have a field day.
Tensions have been simmering for months. Back in September, the announcement that Emmanuel Emegha — Strasbourg’s captain — was lined up to join Chelsea in summer 2026 sparked fury among Alsatian fan groups, who cried loss of sporting independence.
Immediate impact in London
Sources say Liam Rosenior could be in the Blues’ dugout as soon as this weekend. Chelsea are betting on a young, driven coach who already knows the BlueCo way to try and steady a shaky project.
Whether it pays off quickly is anyone’s guess. And Strasbourg? They’re forced to regroup in the middle of a season. One thing’s certain: this move won’t be ignored and it’ll keep fuelling debate well beyond the Premier League.
