Eagles lose five straight for the first time since 2016
Philadelphia has not lived through a skid like this in a decade. Dallas beat the Eagles 38-21 at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night, dropping Philadelphia to 2-5 with a fifth consecutive defeat.
The backdrop was already grim. A week earlier the club learned that Jalen Hurts is done for the season because of blood clots. Tanner McKee, making his fourth NFL start, threw for 211 yards and a touchdown to rookie Makai Lemon, with one interception. A 17-play, 84-yard drive to open the second half chewed up more than nine minutes and put the Eagles ahead 21-20.

Dallas answers with 18 straight
That was the last time Philadelphia led. Dak Prescott found CeeDee Lamb for 16 yards, ran in the two-point conversion himself, and Dallas went into the fourth quarter up 28-21 after the sixth lead change of the night. Brandon Aubrey added his third field goal, and Javonte Williams closed it with a 2-yard score at 2:21.
Williams finished with a career-best 155 rushing yards. The Cowboys piled up 204 on the ground, a season high, and outgained the Eagles 416 to 321. Prescott ended with 212 passing yards and three touchdowns, two to Lamb and one to George Pickens, with no turnovers.
Barkley is back, carefully
The one bright spot for Philadelphia was Saquon Barkley returning from two missed games with a hamstring problem. Used sparingly, he handled nine touches for 71 yards and scored on the opening drive, the first time the Eagles have put points up on their first possession this season.
Dallas improves to 3-4, ends a two-game losing streak and finally wins a prime-time game after three failures this year. Arizona visits Sunday.
