A rookie who will not tone it down
Yaxel Lendeborg kept the quotes coming in the Warriors’ locker room after their loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night at Chase Center, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. The rookie said he is not afraid to talk to anybody, and added that the man he was talking about is not Michael Jordan.
He did concede one point. The trash talk was fun, he said, but he feels he took it overboard in the media. That is as far as he went. Lendeborg said he will always be himself, that he could not care less what the analysts on the couch say, and that he has heard the jokes about being a 24-year-old rookie. He is in the NBA with the best job in the world, he said, and he just moved his mother out to California.

Green defends him, Curry looks ahead
Draymond Green came to his rookie’s defense. After a run-in with Luka Doncic cost Lendeborg a technical foul, Green called the call the weakest thing he had ever seen. In his view, a rookie who does not back down from a superstar should not be punished for it, and plenty of rookies do back down.
Stephen Curry spoke about the bigger picture. The Warriors hold themselves to a high standard, he said, and they still believe they can be that team. The challenge now is to reimagine what it looks like. He pointed to a veteran group that needs health on its side and to young players ready to contribute.
