Wolverhampton – Nottingham Forest : a crucial clash at Molineux
Wolverhampton are still hunting for their first league win this season, a situation getting alarming as the weeks tick by. Opponents Nottingham Forest arrive with a very different mindset, despite the defeat to Brighton. Under Sean Dyche the club have found a firmer base and now look a lot harder to play against.
Wolves : encouraging display but no results
The switch from Vitor Pereira to Rob Edwards hasn’t sparked the hoped-for jolt. Wolves have suffered two more defeats without scoring, but the display at Villa Park felt far more positive. They gave a rampant side a real scare, only beaten by a moment of quality from Boubacar Kamara. Still, reality’s brutal: seven matches without a win in all competitions, just two points from 13 rounds and a bottom spot that keeps getting heavier.
The club haven’t started this badly since 2011-12, the season that ended in relegation. Edwards clings to a few small lights, notably Jorgen Strand Larsen’s activity — he was close to opening the scoring before an infuriating offside last weekend. Intentions won’t cut it; they need points. And fast.
Nottingham Forest : a team transformed under Sean Dyche
After the Postecoglou interlude, which had plunged Forest into a dangerous spiral, Sean Dyche’s arrival changed everything. Tougher, more organised, the Tricky Trees have a clear identity again, with just two defeats in eight games since his appointment. A run of three straight wins bought some breathing space, though Brighton reminded them on Sunday there’s still work to do.
Forest have nonetheless picked up seven points from five matches, enough to climb to 16th and temporarily out of the drop zone. Crucially, away form has steadied: two clean sheets in a row and a thumping win at Anfield. Morgan Gibbs-White, revitalised by Dyche, has found confidence and output again, scoring three times in his last five league games as he fights to force his way back into international contention.
Football Prediction Wolverhampton vs Nottingham Forest
Wolverhampton or Draw
Wolverhampton showed real positives at Villa and could finally grab a result to kickstart their season. That said, Forest now travel with a solid structure and enough steel to trouble anyone. All signs point to the Wolves at least avoiding defeat.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing else. It’s our take on the moment, not a promise. Sport’s unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no bet without risk. Even when something looks “obvious”, it rarely is. Yes, you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
- The smart move is to be reasonable. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase losses — it usually ends badly.
- Betting should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over your life, annoying you or putting you under pressure, take a break. If needed, speak to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral quickly (money losses, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. Plain and simple: you can’t rely on them to make a claim if a bet doesn’t pay off.
Info that can change
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. But a team’s lineup (like Wolves’) can change, a player can get hurt, the weather can turn… and the analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
