Washington Wizards – Denver Nuggets: Different agendas
The Wizards and Nuggets meet in the capital for a clear mismatch. One team is rebuilding, focused on developing youngsters and positioning for the 2026 draft. The other is hunting a second franchise title. Not the flashiest matchup on paper — but upsets happen.
Washington Wizards: Stop the skid with a shock
Nothing’s going right for the Wizards. Eight losses in their last nine have Brian Keefe’s side sliding toward the bottom of the East. A few defeats were tight — Clippers 106-110, Nuggets 115-121 — yet inexperience bites at the end of games and smarter teams take full advantage.
Stats don’t help. 25th in offense (112.5 points per game) and 29th in defense (123.6 allowed) — you don’t win much with numbers like that. Small silver lining: Bilal Coulibaly could return after missing three games.
INJURY REPORT : Marvin Bagley III (questionable) – Bilal Coulibaly (questionable) – AJ Johnson (questionable) – Khris Middleton (questionable) – Tristan Vukcevic (OUT) – Cam Whitmore (OUT) – Trae Young (OUT)
Denver Nuggets: Get the engine running again
The injury list is still long in Colorado, but the Nuggets keep moving through the West. They’ve dropped the last two (107-115 vs Lakers, 87-110 vs Hornets) but still sit third in the conference, just behind the Spurs. Without Nikola Jokic and missing starters Christian Braun and Cam Johnson, Denver must avoid the trap of underestimating a Wizards team that’s starting to get pieces back.
Jamal Murray and co. can lean on the league’s second-best offense. At 121.4 points per game they haven’t lost scoring punch without their three-time MVP. The bench — and even players who previously had no minutes — have stepped up, keeping Denver rolling with Murray as the primary creator.
INJURY REPORT : Christian Braun (OUT) – Nikola Jokic (OUT) – Cam Johnson (OUT) – Jonas Valanciunas (questionable) – Jamal Murray (probable) – Aaron Gordon (probable) – Tim Hardaway Jr (probable)
NBA Pick Washington Wizards vs Denver Nuggets
Over 229.5 points
Like we said: the Wizards’ defense is closer to a sieve than anything resembling an NBA defense. Against one of the league’s best scoring attacks, Washington is likely to leak points. Still, they’ve shown they can hang in high-scoring affairs — look at the recent 115-121 loss to these same Nuggets. An offensive game looks likely, especially with both teams relatively rested (one day off for Denver, two for the Wizards).

First, a quick word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We give an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, not a promise. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, a late injury, or a freak play can flip everything.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious,” it can still go wrong. Yes, that means you can lose. It will happen sometimes.
- Bet sensibly. Stake small, set a budget, and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — that never ends well.
- Betting should stay a pastime, not a job or source of income. If it starts to take over, annoys you, or stresses you out, take a break. If needed, reach out to a specialist organization. That’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, you’re responsible. Reading our content means you accept that risk exists and it won’t vanish — even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is forbidden for minors and must follow your local laws. Gambling can spiral (financial loss, family strain, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium rate call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.

Info subject to change
A pick is based on what we know when we publish. Team sheets change, injuries happen, weather interferes — and the analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
