Uganda – Tanzania: already do-or-die in Rabat
After a bungled opening game at this Africa Cup of Nations, Uganda and Tanzania meet on Saturday at Stade El Barid with the pressure turned up to max. Both sides know another loss would all but end their tournament right in the group stage.
Uganda backed into a corner
The Cranes started the campaign the worst way — a clear defeat to Tunisia. They were put on the back foot early and never really flipped the script. The game exposed several weak spots.
Paul Put’s side is in a rough patch. Form’s patchy. Confidence is low. With a tough final group game looming, Uganda can’t afford another slip-up. They need a reaction. Now.
This clash with Tanzania is a crucial chance to get back in it and stay alive.
Tanzania hunting a turning point
Tanzania also opened the CAN with a defeat, adding to a miserable run that’s been dragging on for months. The Taifa Stars struggle to put two solid performances together, especially at the back where mistakes keep popping up.
Still, they’ve shown some attacking intent lately — chances created, goals found. The job now is to turn those flashes into consistent output over 90 minutes.
In a match this tense, Tanzania’s ability to stay compact and attack with purpose will decide a lot.

First, a word on our tips
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It’s our take on the moment. Not a guarantee. Sport is wild. A red card, an injury, a freak strike… and everything changes.
- Let’s be blunt: there’s no risk-free bet. Even the “obvious” ones aren’t. Yes, that means you can lose. You will lose sometimes. It’s part of the deal.
- Be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch the money you need to live. And don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or income. If it’s taking over your life, stressing you or putting you under pressure, stop. Talk to a specialist if needed. That’s what they’re there for.
- At the end of the day, you’re responsible. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and it won’t vanish, even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our tips are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. Simple: you can’t use them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Info can change
A tip is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and kick-off a lineup can change, a player gets hurt, the weather turns… and the analysis becomes obsolete. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before you bet, check that betting is legal where you live. If it isn’t, that’s on you, not us.
