Torino – Bologna: injury-hit scrap at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
They’re only three points apart, but the vibe around both clubs is heavy. Sunday, Torino host Bologna with one job: stop the bleeding. Bologna have lost four straight in Serie A. Toro are clinging on, saved at the death last week. Nobody’s buzzing. Everyone’s nervous.
Torino: defense in shambles, pride still intact
In Florence, Torino looked like they might sink again. Lead thrown away, momentum fragile, then Maripan’s last-minute header. A point grabbed, almost stolen. Days earlier Inter had ended their Coppa Italia run. Before that, four straight defeats left marks. Only recent bright spot: a narrow home win over Lecce.
The problem’s blunt and on the scoreboard: 42 goals conceded. Worst defence in Serie A. That 6-0 drubbing by Como in January still hurts. Torino concede too much, too fast, too easily. Still, there’s a window. Winning two consecutive home league games would be a first since October. And crucially, it would pull them level with Bologna. In the reverse fixture the Granata held a 0-0 at the Stadio Dall’Ara. But they haven’t beaten Bologna in the league in five meetings.
Bologna: freefall and broken dreams
The contrast is brutal. Last May Bologna lifted the Coppa Italia and ended a 51-year wait. Now the club is in rough waters. Four straight league defeats. Eight losses since early December. 23 goals conceded in that span. Nobody’s worse in Serie A. The cruel loss to Parma summed up the spiral: down to ten men, they almost pulled off the impossible before conceding at the death.
As if that wasn’t enough, their cup defence ended against Lazio — 1-1, then a messy shootout. Riccardo Orsolini missed. A fitting image of a team that doubts itself in big moments. Qualification for Europe via the league looks further away. There’s the Europa League path — a qualifier against Brann — but before dreaming of the continent they have to steady things domestically.
Probable line-ups
Torino: Paleari ; Marianucci, Maripan, Coco ; Pedersen, Ilkhan, Casadei, Lazaro ; Vlasic ; Adams, Simeone
Bologna: Skorupski ; Mario, Casale, Lucumi, Miranda ; Freuler, Ferguson ; Orsolini, Odgaard, Rowe ; Castro
Football Prediction Torino vs Bologna
Both teams to score
Two shaky back lines, two attacks that can flash moments of quality. This won’t be a masterclass in control or a fortress clean sheet. Torino concede too much. Bologna do the same. That should open pockets of space. A draw helps nobody, but it’s not out of the question. Expect goals at both ends. In this sick duel, recovery probably won’t come via a shutout.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We give an opinion, a snapshot read of the moment, never a guarantee. Sport stays what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no bet without risk. Even when something looks “obvious”, it often isn’t. Yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable at times.
- Best advice: be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live. And don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or income source. If it takes over your life, makes you anxious or stressed, take a break. If needed, talk to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must follow your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (financial losses, family strain, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium call) • https://www.gambleaware.org/.

Information that changes
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. But line-ups change, a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
