The Canadian franchise lands in Florida riding a hot run — five straight games with points (four wins and a recent 4-3 shootout loss to Pittsburgh). They sit 9th in the East but are effectively in the top eight when you factor in points in hand.
On the road, Travis Green’s squad have been a proper nuisance: five wins in their last six away games. They’re inside the NHL’s top 10 on the road (59.5% of possible points), boasting a red-hot attack at 3.43 goals per game (5th), although the back end still gives up chances (3.35 GA, 24th). And the defense is bruised: Jake Sanderson, Nick Jensen, Dennis Gilbert, Thomas Chabot and Lassi Thomson are all sidelined — that includes three of their best offensive blueliners.
