Seattle is slipping 
A brutal home stretch for Lane Lambert’s men. Three straight defeats have left a nasty mark: St. Louis (2-3), Ottawa (4-7) and Nashville (2-4). Eighth place in the Western Conference is wobbling under pressure. Lose again and Seattle could tumble to tenth.
This wreck of a run has dropped their home points rate to 56.1%. Still, they’re scoring at Climate Pledge Arena — 2.94 goals for versus 2.76 against. The attack still shows up. The Kraken have hit at least two goals in 17 straight home games.
The injury list is easing. Ryan Lindgren and Frederick Gaudreau are back. Lindgren replaces Cale Fleury on the blue line. Gaudreau slots onto the second scoring line to cover for Jaden Schwartz. Forward Bobby McMann is expected to make his debut in new colors.
The Avalanche sit at the top 
The recent loss to Edmonton (3-4) snapped a five-game winning streak. Colorado still leads the West with 95 points. Avalanche have got a five-point cushion on the next team, and a game in hand. The numbers are brutal. Best offense (3.78 goals per game) and best defense (2.44 goals allowed) in the league.
The Avalanche are rolling on the road. Jared Bednar’s crew have five straight wins away — their best run this season. They’re grabbing 72.6% of available points in opposition rinks. The visiting defense shuts things down, giving up just 2.55 goals on average.
Artturi Lehkonen, Gabriel Landeskog and Logan O’Connor are out until at least the end of March. Lines have shifted. Nazem Kadri slid onto the top line, pushing Valeri Nichushkin down to the second unit in the last game against the Oilers.
