Rennes vs Toulouse – Free Football Prediction and Tips – Ligue 1 – February 28, 2026

Rennes – Toulouse: Europe in their sights at Roazhon Park

Saturday night in Brittany and Rennes welcome Toulouse with one aim: keep climbing. The Red and Blacks have two solid wins under their belt and are daring to dream about Champions League spots. Toulouse, by contrast, are stalling — Europe is slipping away week after week. Two runs in opposite directions, same pressure: don’t let go.

The new boss lit a fuse. Franck Haise’s first game in charge was a clean 3-0 win at Auxerre, following the victory that came before Habib Beye left. Two straight wins, six goals scored and, crucially, sixth place still intact. Better: Marseille sit just three points behind — suddenly a Champions League push looks believable.

At home Rennes are hard to beat. Five unbeaten in their last six at Roazhon Park, the only slip a loss to Lorient in January. On 37 points after 23 games, they’re clearly ahead of where they were this time last season. One small but telling task remains: they haven’t beaten Toulouse at home since 2022.

Toulouse are in a rough patch. Four matches without a win and a shaky tenth after drawing with Le Havre. Carles Martinez’s side now trail Rennes by six points in the race for Europe and could tumble into the bottom half with another poor result.

Away form is a headache: two straight defeats on the road, just one away win all season, and only one victory after conceding first. Yet Toulouse have historically caused trouble in Rennes — six matches unbeaten against them, including two wins at Roazhon Park, the last a 2-0 victory last season.

Probable line-ups

Rennes: Samba ; Nagida, Rouault, Brassier, Merlin ; Rongier, Camara ; Al-Taamari, Blas, Nordin ; Lepaul

Toulouse: Restes ; Sidibe, Cresswell, McKenzie ; Kamanzi, Vossah, Diop, Methalie ; Russell-Rowe, Gboho ; Hidalgo

Football Prediction Rennes vs Toulouse

Both teams to score

Rennes look freed up and attack-minded since the coaching change, but Toulouse always threaten on the break and have a good record at this ground. Expect an open game and goals at both ends.

First, a word on our tips

  • What we publish on Mathodds is analysis and opinion, nothing more. It’s our read of the moment, not a promise. Sport is wildly unpredictable. A red card, an injury or a freak goal and the whole picture changes.
  • Let’s be blunt: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks obvious, it rarely is. Yes, you can lose. You will, at some point.
  • Be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And whatever you do, don’t chase losses — that’s a fast route to trouble.
  • Betting should be entertainment, not a job or an income stream. If it’s taking over, annoying you or stressing you out, step back. If needed, talk to a specialist organisation — that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately you’re responsible. Reading our content means you accept there’s risk and it won’t vanish, even with the best analysis.
  • Key reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must follow your local laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

Our tips aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. In plain terms: you can’t use our picks to claim anything if a bet loses.

Information can change

A tip is based on what we know when we write it. But line-ups change, players pick up knocks, weather turns nasty… and our analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
