PSG vs Marseille – Free Football Prediction & Tips – French Top Flight – February 8, 2026

PSG – Marseille: 3rd Classic of the season! UN NOUVEAU LOGO POUR LA LIGUE 1 À COMPTER DE 2024-2025 | LFP - Ligue de Football Professionnel

Sunday evening the capital’s ground will roar as it hosts the third PSG–Marseille meeting of the season. Marseille won the first clash 1-0, PSG grabbed the French Super Cup in January after a 2-2 draw and penalties (4-1). Luis Enrique’s men want to tighten their grip on top spot; Marseille are desperate to hang on to third.

PSG haven’t romped away like last season. Lens led for a long stretch before Pierre Sage’s side slipped up in Marseille (1-3). At this stage of the year PSG usually find their stride and finish the league with a bang. Since that 0-1 loss at Monaco in November 2025, Luis Enrique’s squad have won six straight league games.

There have been cracks, though. PSG were shockingly dumped out of the French Cup by Paris FC (0-1) — Luis Enrique called it a robbery but didn’t publicly tear into his players after the upset. The Champions League hasn’t been smooth either. A draw in the group left the holders needing the playoff route, landing them a tie with AS Monaco.

Roberto De Zerbi’s team have hit turbulence. They were nowhere near it in the Champions League tie with Club Brugge (0-3). That heavy defeat cost them: after a chaotic round of results they were eliminated when a last-second strike from Benfica’s keeper sealed their fate.

Domestically they nearly survived a scare too. Marseille looked to have done the hard part, 2-0 up with ten minutes left against Paris FC in matchday 20 — then they folded, conceding a stoppage-time penalty after a reckless challenge by Rulli. Beyond dressing-room tension, the wobble has exposed a worrying lack of calm. Lyon are breathing down their neck for third. The morale boost from the cup win over Rennes didn’t fix everything, but it does take a few headaches off the table ahead of the showdown.

Probable line-ups

PSG :
Chevalier ; Hakimi, Zabarnyi, Beraldo, Hernandez ; Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Mbaye ; D. Doué, Dembélé, Barcola

Marseille :
Rulli ; Pavard, Balerdi, Medina ; Weah, Hojbjerg, Timber, Paixao ; Greenwood, Traore ; Gouiri

Football Prediction PSG vs Marseille

PSG winMarseille showed steel and teamwork to nick the first meeting at the Velodrome, but the run of form clearly favours PSG. Expect Paris to finish the second half of the season in full throttle.

First, a word on our predictions

  • What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It’s our view at a given moment, not a promise. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal — the whole match can flip in an instant.
  • Let’s be blunt: no bet comes without risk. Even when something looks obvious, it’s not guaranteed. Yes, that means you can lose. At some point you probably will.
  • The smart move is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And whatever you do, don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
  • Betting should be entertainment, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking over your life or stressing you out, step away. Talk to a specialist service if you need to. That’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility sits with you. Reading our content means you accept the risk that comes with it — and that risk never disappears, even with the best analysis.
  • Essential reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow the law where you live. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family friction, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No guarantee from us

Our predictions are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. In plain terms: you can’t hold us liable if a bet loses.

Info can change

A tip is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and kick-off a lineup can change, a player can pick up an injury, the weather can turn — and the analysis becomes outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.

Your role

Before you bet, make sure gambling is legal where you live. If it isn’t, that’s on you, not us.
