PSG – Marseille: a tense Trophée des Champions
PSG and OM meet in Kuwait for a match that’s more than a simple trophy game. Paris, used to these moments and last year’s winners, arrive in solid form. Marseille, patchy but capable of flashes, hope to pull off a shock and hand Roberto De Zerbi his first trophy on the Olympique bench.
PSG: reliable in big games
The Parisians can grab their second trophy of the season. Unbeaten in five matches, they opened 2026 with a solid win over Paris FC (2-1). This competition suits them: 11 wins in their last 12 finals, and no goals conceded in the last three editions.
Paris also have the edge against OM, with five straight wins as the “home” side, including a 2-1 in the 2021 Trophée des Champions. Luis Enrique will have to cope without Achraf Hakimi, at AFCON, while Matvey Safonov is injured and Lee Kang-in remains doubtful.
Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué made the difference last weekend, and Lucas Chevalier should keep Paris’ goal again.
Marseille: capable of the best and the worst
OM started the year badly with a 2-0 loss at Nantes, a setback that pushed them further from the top of the table.
For Roberto De Zerbi this final is a golden chance: a win would put Marseille level with Monaco in the Trophée des Champions roll of honour. The Phocéens are coming off two convincing away wins, nine goals in those two matches. They’ve already shown this season they can hit hard on the road, notably a 6-0 in the Coupe de France at Bourg-Péronnas.
They also beat PSG 1-0 in September at the Vélodrome, and could record two straight wins over Paris for the first time since 2011.
Ruben Blanco is doubtful, but Amine Gouiri is back. Geronimo Rulli, who kept a clean sheet in the last meeting, should start.
Probable line-ups

Chevalier ; Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Hernandez ; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz ; Ramos, Dembélé, Barcola
Marseille :
Rulli ; Pavard, Balerdi, Aguerd ; Weah, O’Riley, Nadir, Palmieri ; Greenwood, Paixao ; Aubameyang

Football Picks PSG vs Marseille
PSG to win
Paris arrive with experience, stability and a squad made for this sort of game. Marseille are unpredictable — capable of brilliance but too inconsistent to compete over the long haul. PSG look better equipped to hold the title and start 2026 with another trophy.
First, a word about our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses. Nothing else. We give an opinion, a read of the moment, not a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no bet without risk. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing truly is. And yes, that means you can lose. It will happen at some point.
- Best practice: be reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over your life, stressing you or putting pressure on you, take a break. If needed, contact a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis.
- Essential reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our picks aren’t a contract. They have no legal force. In short: you can’t rely on them to make a claim if a bet loses.
Information changes
A pick is based on what we know when we write. But a lineup (like PSG’s) can change, a player can get injured, the weather can turn… and the analysis becomes outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before betting, simply check that gambling is legal where you live. If it’s not, that’s your responsibility, not ours.

We’ll say it again: play in moderation. If you struggle to control it, don’t wait to get help. We can’t be responsible for compulsive or excessive use of the information published on the site.
