Portland Trail Blazers – Milwaukee Bucks: Jrue Holiday’s revenge night
Tonight the Moda Center in Oregon hosts a clash between two teams heading in opposite directions. Portland are cooking, Milwaukee have basically checked out. With their superstar tucked away for the rest of the year, the Bucks have little left to play for; Portland will try to convert momentum into wins. All eyes will be on Jrue Holiday — he’ll be desperate to make his old team pay.
Portland Trail Blazers: the surprise package
Spring has come early in Oregon. The Trail Blazers are on a roll — four wins in five. They were predictably flattened by the Denver giant (112-128), but they’ve smashed softer opponents, obliterating Brooklyn (134-99) and grinding out a big win over Minnesota (108-104).
The season’s breakout star? Deni Avdija. The Israeli is playing All-Star level basketball, piling up 24.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists. The supporting cast clicks too: Toumani Camara and Sidy Cissoko keep attacking the rim, while the big man Donovan Clingan cleans up the paint. Their defense still concedes 118.3 points per game, but simply having Jrue Holiday on court brings calm. Another huge edge: they dominate offensive rebounding, handing themselves precious extra possessions.
Milwaukee Bucks: counting down to the offseason
In Wisconsin it’s a mess. Playoffs are out of reach and the front office has made a hard call: Giannis Antetokounmpo is being rested until next season. The rest of the roster is listless. Motivation is gone, defensive bite has vanished, and the offense that lived off occasional three-point bursts has stalled.
Their last outing was a proper spanking at the hands of the Clippers (96-129). On the road they cough the ball up with silly turnovers and get knocked around on the boards. Even Myles Turner’s arrival hasn’t fixed it: Milwaukee ranks among the league’s worst on the glass (28th with 40.9 rebounds per game). To top it off, they have the NBA’s worst free-throw percentage (73.2%). Not much to hope for here.
NBA pick Portland Trail Blazers vs Milwaukee Bucks
Portland -9.5
This one’s pretty straightforward. The visitors know their season is dead. Some bench players will audition for contracts, but the veterans aren’t risking injury. Portland are in great form, play attractive basketball, and Jrue Holiday is fired up to school his former team. Blazers have the form, the court and the hunger. Don’t overthink it: comfortable Portland win, should cover the -9.5 spread.

First, a word about our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We offer an opinion, a read of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak score — the whole script can flip in an instant.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, nothing is certain. And yes, that means you can lose. It will happen at some point.
- Best practice: stay sensible. Bet small, set a limit and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And never chase losses — that rarely ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or a revenue stream. If it’s taking over your life, bugging you or stressing you out, take a break. If needed, talk to a specialist organization. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept that risk exists and it won’t vanish, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Essential reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tensions, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.

Info that moves fast
A pick is based on what we know when we write it. But team sheets change, players get hurt, weather shifts… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We can’t be held responsible for that.
