Phoenix Suns – Oklahoma City Thunder: interesting West matchup
The Suns and Thunder meet for their 4th and penultimate showdown of the season. OKC have taken two of the three so far, but Phoenix were one of the first teams to rattle Mark Daigneault’s machine — they’ll be chasing another statement win tonight.
Phoenix Suns: get back into the top six before the break
The Suns sit 7th in the Western Conference at 31-22. Few expected this from Jordan Ott’s crew, but Dillon Brooks’ arrival has reshaped the team’s identity — tougher defensively — and filled the roster with hungry players cast off elsewhere, desperate to prove they belong in a playoff unit.
Long a top-six team in the West, Phoenix have cooled off: just 2 wins from their last 5, losses to Philadelphia (103-109), Golden State (97-101) and the Clippers (93-117) balanced by big wins over Portland (130-125) and Dallas (120-111). To beat the Thunder like they did earlier this season (108-105), the Suns will lean on that elite defence — 5th-best in the league at 111.4 points allowed — especially with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out.
INJURY REPORT : Grayson Allen (OUT) – Isaiah Livers (OUT) – Cole Anthony (questionable)
Oklahoma City Thunder: go into the break on a high
Despite injuries, dips in form and recurring losses to the Spurs, the Thunder remain the league’s best team and the favourites to hold onto the title. OKC are 41-13 — the best record in the league — with the 2nd-best offence and the top defence. They dominate both ends and will wait until mid-April to defend their crown.
Without Shai, OKC face a proper test before a week off against the Suns. Phoenix were among the first to threaten Oklahoma City’s 16-game streak, pushing the champs to the limit (123-119). Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren will need to step up as offensive leaders in the MVP’s absence to avoid another loss — a third in four.
INJURY REPORT : Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OUT) – Ajay Mitchell (OUT) – Nikola Topic (OUT)
NBA prediction Phoenix Suns vs Oklahoma City Thunder
Under 221.5 points
When two of the league’s top-five defences meet, backing a shootout would be cheeky. Their last meeting finished 108-105 to the Suns. With Shai out, OKC have shown offensive hiccups, so expect a defensive slog rather than a scoring frenzy.

First, a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We offer an opinion — a snapshot — never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable: a red card, a late injury, a freak moment and the script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it rarely is. Yes, you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
- Keep it sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — that almost never ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or a way to pay the bills. If it’s taking over, stressing you out or making you angry, step back. If needed, talk to a specialist service — that’s what they exist for.
- Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk is real and won’t vanish, even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must comply with your local laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tension, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No guarantees
Our picks are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. In plain terms: you can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Info can change
A prediction is based on what we know when we write. Lineups shift, players pick up knocks, conditions change — and the analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before placing a bet, check that gambling is legal where you are. If it isn’t, that’s on you.
