Philadelphia 76ers – Houston Rockets: Harden’s former clubs go head-to-head
The Sixers and Rockets — two of James Harden’s old teams — and both scrapping for a top-six spot in their conferences. Philly and Houston are sitting reasonably well right now, but another win would do them a world of good.
Philadelphia 76ers: tough home test
The Sixers are slipping — three losses in four. All came against proper playoff opposition: two defeats to the Cavs (101-133, 115-117) and a loss to Devin Booker’s Suns (110-116). They did squeeze in a win over the Pacers (113-104) between those results. Like tonight’s opponents, Nick Nurse’s side have no real cushion above the Play-In — they’re level with the Magic in 7th.
A home win is essential if they want to stay in the top six and avoid being left behind in the East. The 76ers will try to pull their home record back to even (11-12). Philly should get a lift from Kelly Oubre Jr’s return, letting Nick Nurse manage rotations the way he wants.
INJURY REPORT : Joel Embiid (probable) – Paul George (questionable)
Houston Rockets: four in a row?
The Rockets have been on fire: three straight wins, four of five, and back up to 4th in the West. All green lights for Ime Udoka’s side. They beat the Wolves (110-105) and Spurs (111-106) back-to-back — two direct rivals — which bought them a bit of breathing room, about 0.5 games on 7th. That gap is thin: one loss and you’re back in the Play-In — a neat reminder of how brutal the West is right now.
Against the 76ers, Houston has work to do on defence. Philly packs scorers — Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, V.J. Edgecombe and Paul George. Luckily for the Rockets, they boast the 4th-best defence, allowing just 110.5 points per game, anchored by physical wrecking balls like Amen Thompson and Tari Eason, and they’re the best at rebounding. Two solid ingredients to make it a long night for the opposition.
INJURY REPORT : Steven Adams (OUT) – Aaron Holiday (questionable)
NBA prediction Philadelphia 76ers vs Houston Rockets
Rockets to win
The Rockets are riding a wave of confidence, and what better time to press the advantage than after a statement win? Philly are at home, sure, but home court hasn’t been much help this season. With both teams largely healthy and the recent form on Houston’s side, the Rockets head in as favorites — even on the road.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, never a guarantee. Sport stays unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the script changes entirely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it usually isn’t. Yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable sooner or later.
- Best advice: be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it almost never ends well.
- Betting should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it takes over your life, annoys you or puts you under pressure, take a break. If needed, talk to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re there for.
- At the end of the day, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and that it won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must comply with the law in your country. Gambling can spiral (money losses, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
